Study Habits

Developing good study habits is essential for thriving at Trinity. Some students can get by with little planning or time management but this is not true for everyone. When life gets busy and assignments get harder most student will struggle to survive without good study habits. Practice and develop good habits now so that when the crunch time comes you are ready.

There are three key topics to understand to develop good study habits:

  1. Planning
  2. Time Management
  3. Knowing Yourself

This guide will help you understand these topics but before we continue on we need to understand the importance of balance and studying in a community.

Balance

Often our main goal for developing good study habits is to get assignments done on time and well. This is a good goal but if it is achieved at the expense of others then we need to reconsider.

Life is more than just study, the right balance will guard against burn out, help you love others and study better. Loving others well with our time is the end goal of good study habits as a Christian. As you plan and manage your time remember to…

  • Plan rest time
  • Eat well
  • Exercise
  • Get enough sleep
Studying in community

You are part of a community here at college, so don’t feel like you’re alone. Study together with other students, chat to your lecturers about what you have been learning. If you are struggling with your studies there are many people who you can talk to:

  • Your Lecturer
  • Other Students
  • Registrars
  • PCG Leader
  • Library Staff
